International Technical Manager Ornamental Horticulture Europe & APAC

Job description

In this role, you are responsible for the technical management of the market segment Ornamental Horticulture in Europe and APAC, as a specialist for container nursery stock, pot and bedding plant cultures.
You are the link for technical topics between technical sales teams/growers/distribution partners and R&D/Supply Chain.


Tasks and responsibilities

In a strong collaboration with the Global Category Manager/International Marketing Manager Ornamental Horticulture you support the Technical Sales Teams throughout Europe and APAC. Your main activities are around:

  • Maintaining and improving the technical performance of the current product portfolio
  • New Product Development
  • Training and support of our own Sales Force and distribution partners
  • Education on at least bachelor level in a ‘green’ education, preferably with a specialization in Ornamental Horticulture;
  • Relevant work experience related to tasks and responsibilities of the job, for the target markets;
  • Excellent technical knowledge of container nursery stock, pot and bedding plant cultures;
  • Technical knowledge of fertilizers combined with true advising skills gathered in the field.

This means that you are responsible for the high technical performance of products in pot and bedding plants and container stock markets in Europe and APAC. You are the technical expert in the OH Marketing team.
ICL SF strives to accomplish game changing innovations and new product development, supported by own field trials in the Netherlands and abroad.

You train our technical sales force, growers and distributions partners in the technical aspects of products and how they are applied in crops.

You maintain contacts with international research stations, governmental institutes and other external organizations to keep up to date in new technical developments.


Your profile

To be successful you would need the following expertise:

  • Education on at least bachelor level in a ‘green’ education, preferably with a specialization in Ornamental Horticulture;
  • Relevant work experience related to tasks and responsibilities of the job, for the target markets;
  • Excellent technical knowledge of container nursery stock, pot and bedding plant cultures;
  • Technical knowledge of fertilizers combined with true advising skills gathered in the field.

In this role you are in contact with different stake-holders internal and external, which includes giving trainings and presentations. You have the presence to do so and you are a natural strong communicator. You have the drive to get things done, but most of all you are a team player by nature, with an analytical and commercial mind-set.


Languages

Excellent knowledge (verbally and in writing) of the English and Dutch language. German or other European languages are an advantage.


Location

Netherlands, Waardenburg.
